Glen Canyon Dam, in Page, Arizona

The Glen Canyon Dam is part of the Colorado River Storage Project for the upper Colorado basin.

Construction of the dam began in 1956 but blocking the flow water did not begin until 1963.

The dam is 710 feet high and is an arch design which is 1560 feet in length.

There are eight 155,5000 horsepower turbines here. And about 85% of the water goes to irrigation projects with the remaining water going to urban areas.

See ya down the road!
